The theme for Enrichment Week was Empowerment and it is true to say that the students really took on board the activities and lesson with enthusiasm ensuring each was empowered with new learning and new skills.
The week was planned and delivered by the RSE/PSHE Dept. and started off with a visit to a local nature reserve where students connected with the nature and took time to appreciate Allah SWT blessings around us.
They participated in multiple wellbeing activities including SoundScaping, Marbling, Team games and taking time to reflect on Surah Rahman & the favours of Allah SWT.
The excellent session was delivered by Sameera, Outdoor Officer, The Friendship Café and Becky & Izzy from the Severn Rivers Trust.
Day Two saw the students participate in an Empowerment workshop with a guest speaker, Mariam Apa, who taught the students the perfect examples of the attributes and strengths of the noble daughters of Nabi SAW.
The session included discussion and activities which allowed students to reflect on their own characters and make pledges to make changes. IA.
Day three was the ever popular Sports Day where the students worked in teams to showcase their athletic prowess but also to encourage each other and understand the meaning of gracious wins and losses. MA
High praise to Yr 9 for planning and organising the event with the PE Dept. Well done MA.
The week culminated in a visit to Drayton Manor Park and Zoo, both as a reward for all the hardwork and commitment throughout the year, as well as an opportunity to enjoy time with peers.
A heartfelt thanks and Jazakallahu khayr to all the PE Dept, PSHE Dept, volunteer staff, guest speakers and admin team involved in organising and delivering such a successful and valuable week of empowerment which the students thoroughly enjoyed. MA.
