As part of the Year 10 careers programme and in alignment with the Gatsby Benchmarks, the AASSG Reading Ambassador initiative has given our students a valuable opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills while supporting younger learners. Over a three-week period, our Reading Ambassadors visited Widden Primary School, where they listened to young readers, helped them sound out words, and encouraged their progress with praise and stickers.
Our students were exemplary in their commitment and enthusiasm, and the primary staff were incredibly impressed and grateful for the support.
This initiative has not only fostered a love of reading in the younger pupils but also allowed our students to gain meaningful experience and confidence. MashaAllah.
